Situated just off Kloof Street and round the corner from some excellent restaurants and pubs, this refurbished double-storey backpackers is the cat's whiskers. Adequately groomed, pad down to Kloof Street for breakfast at one of the pavement cafés. Then spend the rest of your day experiencing Cape Town on foot - Long Street, galleries and museums are all just a walk or short taxi ride away. Table Mountain is up the hill and Camps Bay's cocktail strip just over Kloof Nek.
Back home, blog your daily news and pics at their internet café, then find a quiet, warm spot for a quick catnap. A lounge area leads onto a quiet courtyard which is ideal for soaking up vitamin D in the sun or for reading a book in the shade of a big (amber) tree. Seal the day with a lick of sunset from the upstairs balcony - the views of landmark Table Mountain are purrfect.
